JERUSALEM: In this conversation we discuss the influences on Rabbi Kassorla's path of study and leadership, alarming trends in the workplace, and the inconvenience (and necessity) of personal accountability for well-adapted families & societies.
Bio:
Rabbi Kassorla is a descendent of a long line of Sephardic Rabbis, and studied in some of the most illustrious Talmudical Academies (Netiv Aryeh, Mir Yeshiva) in Jerusalem. He received his ordination from a member of the Council of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. Today Rabbi Kassorla serves in various Torah Academies lecturing on topics of Jewish Law & Ethics.
Inside this episode:

  • Where did the name Kassorla come from?
  • A fortunate & proactive departure from Spain in the 14th century
  • How weddings, funerals & hospice paved Rabbi Kassorla's path
  • Why do we become passive observers to our life & what we must do instead
  • Do you have a "work wife" or "work husband"? How to replace this not-so-innocuous phrase with workplace boundaries.
  • We'll learn two of the most common reasons for divorce - at a seed level

About Kollel Nefesh Hachaim:
Kollel Nefesh Hachaim provides an intensive, highly skills-oriented program of one to two years, including basic Hebrew and Aramaic grammar, for young married Torah students. The Kollel is English speaking and based in Jerusalem.

The institution is designed for late starters and less advanced students who no longer belong in the conventional baal teshuva program, but are not yet ready to enter a mainstream, high level learning program. Kollel Nefesh HaChaim helps to save many young men and women from falling into the gap that lies between these two worlds, and stand them solidly on their own two feet.
