PART 1 / 2

[0:40] Introducing Dr. Nijay Gupta

[2:08] The goal of theological interpretation is knowing God and being known by God; it’s hard to study the Bible neutrally as “just an academic”.

[3:05] Love is at the heart of Paul’s theology. It’s not just an addendum related to ethics.

[4:42] The New Testament Commentary Guide: A Brief Handbook for Students and Pastors

[7:10] I like to take these big lofty things that academics are talking about, and bring them to busy pastors and lay people who can’t wade through a 700 page book.

[10:03] We all know we should stop doing the bad thing but then we realize we’re part of systems and habits and behaviors and families that make it more difficult than to just stop sin.

[11:30] Practical Theology

[12:40] The internet has brought us a lot of information. But the challenge is ALL the opinions of everybody ALL right in front of you. It’s a cacophony of learning.

[16:45] How do you respect someone you really disagree with? Philippians 4:2-3 - I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.
