Desert Train
Prison chains and shackles on my ankles and wrists
And I’m sweltering in the sun
Thirsting for rivers clouds and home
The heat is so strong
I think I’m going insane
We’re building a track
For a desert train
Oh
Together we sing along
But don’t speak out of line
Or you’ll get the butt end of a gun
Dropped into your side
And anger churns in your eyes
And the guards they think it’s fun
Swing your ax and smash your sledge
Till the vicious day is done
Swing low swing hard
Don’t say he has the liff
Or you’ll end up in the stockade
Or in the hot box or on the whipping post
Either way you’ll feel pain
And oh yes Mr Bossman
Oh now I feel my guilt
Can I feel anything
Except your harsh punishment
Oh the pain
The sound of slaves
The sound of slaves
Singing wacky songs
Mingled with the lonely tears
Echo through the days so long
What is this worker destined for
To be in hell for no reason
When will the truth be known
When will these chains be broken
For our freedom
Sweet freedom
Swing low swing hard
Hear the sound of clanging steel
Echoing through your brain
Echoing through your brain
We’re building
Building
A track
For a desert train
About Us:
This world is a dry and weary land.
All around us are people dying for a drink of fresh, new life.
In the Bible, drought and famine were used as a symbol of the lack or withdrawal of God's blessing.
Like the prodigal son and the lost sheep, we have all chosen to leave the safety and security of God's love and favor, enticed by our own lusts and the alluring but empty and deadly deceptions of the enemy of our souls.
We find ourselves lost, alone, broken, hungry, thirsty and on the brink of death.
But none have strayed so far that they cannot return.
Cry out to Him for help and surrender your life back to Him.
He promised He would take you back, always.
We pray the music ministry of The Rain refreshes your dry and weary soul, and opens your heart for the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit in these end times.
Love,
Nick and Lauren
