WHAT'S IN THIS EPISODE?

In September 2016, Alli Hoff Kosik walked away from her dream job to pursue her love of writing professionally. And that decision came with a ton of insecurities. As Alli shares in our conversation, being raised by strong, independent women to be a strong, independent woman, she grappled with feeling like she was somehow letting these women down. Recently married, she felt torn between staying in a job that was no longer the right fit and leaving to pursue her own career while relying on the financial support of her new husband.

We talk about…

  • How we let money define our worth and our relationships
  • Redefining what a strong woman is
  • Dealing with insecurities and guilt after leaving her full-time job
  • How Alli knew it was time to leave her job

WHO IS ALLI HOFF KOSIK?

In September 2016, Alli Hoff Kosik walked away from her dream job to pursue her love of writing professionally, with only a few contacts and a general idea of how to make that happen. Today, she is a full-time freelance writer. Her work has appeared in Marie Claire and on a variety of Web sites including Real Simple, Racked, Bustle, Brit + Co, Refinery29, Ravishly, and The Kitchn. You can also find Alli blogging at www.FindingPlanA.com. She is passionate about reading, running, rainbow sprinkles, her lipstick collection, watching embarrassing reality TV, and wandering her neighborhood listening to podcasts. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and (in her dreams, at least) three golden retriever puppies.
