In this very special episode of The Regenerative Education Podcast you can listen in on a selection of personal reflections from students who participated in the very first iteration of the national leadership programme for circular transitions. This programme is an educational innovation that emerged from a consortium that brought together the Dutch ministry of Infrastructure & water management, NGO's Het Groene Brein, Leren voor Morgen, RvO, and The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and InHolland University of Applied Sciences.
We started with about sixty courageous students from all fields of study at bachelor and graduate-level who committed to participating in this four-month hybrid programme that combined working on local or regional transition challenges and following a tailored course of interactive workshops and masterclasses provided by leading researchers, professors, policymakers and practitioners. Topics that were covered in these sessions included transition design, personal sustainability, and futuring. Throughout this programme, the students were supported in their learning with a dedicated learning journal, that was co-designed by the consortium for this purpose.
The LCT programme culminated in the second iteration of the National Hackathon Circular Economy and as presented at the National Conference on the Circular Economy in the Netherlands in February 2022. In the National Hackathon, students tackled the issue of creating a more circular textile ecosystem in the Netherlands, linking directly to one of the transition agendas of the Dutch government.
The National Talent Program Leadership for the Circular Transition (LCT) aims to train the next generation of leaders to become circular change agents for the Netherlands of tomorrow.
We hope you enjoy the episode.
