During his senior year at Clovis High School, Tony Hoffman graced the cover of BMXer Magazine and secured sponsorships from Fox Racing, Spy Sunglasses, and Airwalk Shoes. It appeared that Tony was on a path to stardom. However, beneath the surface, he battled crippling anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. His substance use began in his senior year, leading to a rapid decline in his mental health and eventual opioid addiction. Misuse of Oxycontin and other drugs plunged him into a life marked by addiction, crime, homelessness, and incarceration.
Since being paroled from prison, Tony has worked tirelessly to achieve the goals and dreams he set during his incarceration. He raced BMX professionally for several years and coached Brooke Crain to a 4th place finish at the Rio Olympic Games, fulfilling his dream of participating in the Olympics. The Freewheel Project was highly successful, helping thousands of youth through action sports before Tony transitioned to a demanding national speaking career. Today, Tony is an author, owner of pH Wellness drug and alcohol treatment facility, and one of the world's most sought-after speakers on mental health and substance use.
