It's easy to succumb to the trap of making life as "easy" as possible. Seeking ease and comfort at all costs is actually the pitfall of humanity. Without challenge and obstacles - there would be nothing to overcome, to prove to ourselves we are strong and capable. If we never flex that muscle of "overcoming" hardship - we lose it. And if we don't teach it to our kids...how the heck are they gonna navigate the big bad world as adults?
On our never-ending quest for healthy parenting skills - be sure to add this one to the tool belt. Yes, our job is to protect them, but it's not our job to hide reality from them.
