Several years ago, celebrated scholar and pastor John MacArthur, when asked during a bible class if a person could take the mark of the beast and still be saved, shockingly replied, "Yes." This response started a firestorm of controversy that is still burning today. On Dr. MacArthur's behalf, several well-known Evangelicals have come to his defense by affirming his position, even though it directly contradicts the Scriptures.
