In Matt 7:20, Jesus warned that you will know false prophets by their fruit. The prophet Micah gives us insight into the false prophet's agenda when he writes, "Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the LORD’s support and say, “Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us.” Micah 3:11 (NIV) False prophets, prophesy in the name of Jesus but have no real relationship with Him (Matt 7:21-23). Their agenda is to fleece the people out of their money.
