2022 is the 60th anniversary year for local choir, Twyford Singers. We catch up with them during rehearsals for their traditional Easter concert, to be held in St Mary's church in Twyford on Palm Sunday, 10 April.

The concert will include music from the 8th century to the 20th, as well as a new composition of 'Gloria, laus et honor' by Simon Rigby, a previous musical director of Twyford Singers.

In this podcast we hear from choir members Sue Corcoran and Celia Reinbolt. They reassure Ben that he'd be most welcome if he fancied joining! No previous experience is required, nor an ability to read music, though this is helpful. In between rehearsals, choir members continue to improve thanks to the practice files available online. As well as the joy of singing together, members appreciate the social side and friendships made.

Diary date: The Twyford Singers' Summer Concert will take place on 25 June at Loddon Hall, Twyford. This will be an opportunity to hear performances of the three finalists shortlisted in the composition competition held to mark the 60th anniversary of the choir. Entries were invited on the theme of Hope, Joy and Celebration and there was a fantastic response. A panel of illustrious musicians will attend the concert and judge the winner.

Twyford Singers are ably led by musical director Helen Stiles, with the help of accompanist Judith Creighton.
