Have you ever asked "where can I learn to morris dance" or "what is morris dancing"?
Well, it's late September, Strictly Come Dancing is back - and so are the annual taster sessions with Hurst Morris People!

Ben didn't need too much persuading to head to Hurst Village Hall to find out more. We learn a bit about Morris dancing as an English folk tradition, the Cotswold style (the one with sticks and hankies), versus other types, and a typical practice session with Hurst Morris People - affectionately known as HuMP.

He chats with several people who help to enlighten him and dispel a few myths: Karen Ricketts, the 'Squire' of the side, Brian, one of the teachers, and Rich, aged 28, who joined the side after a taster session last year and confirms it is a lot of fun.

Fancy meeting new people, learning some steps, having a laugh, enjoying some tea/coffee and cake (and maybe even a visit to the pub afterwards)? Then join Hurst Morris People at their taster session on Thursday 29 September 2022, from 8pm to 10pm at Hurst Village Hall, School Road, Hurst RG10 0DR.
