Where are the ghosts in Berkshire? In RG10! With Halloween creeping up on us, the RG10 podcast has unearthed some of the area's spookiest tales.

There is the story of a ghostly horseman named Herne the Hunter. The legend goes that hundreds of years ago Herne committed an atrocity within Windsor Forest, and his tormented soul has on occasion been spotted in Twyford. He is easy to recognise, as he has antlers and attacks cattle. As the episode reveals, Herne the Hunter also appears in a Shakespeare play and in an episode of a 1980s teatime television drama.

Next, there is a story of a local hostelry where it is said that on occasion the cries of a distressed woman can be heard. This is said to hark back to when a previous landlord discovered that his wife was having an affair, so he threw her out and forbade her to see their only child ever again. Creepy.

Finally, the podcast visits Sonning, to regale you with a couple of chilling stories. The first takes place at The Mill at Sonning Theatre, where the details are a little sketchy. The second features top spoon bender and former Sonning resident Uri Geller. He shares with us a legend that will strike fear into any mortal soul, involving a mysterious post box and an apparition on the bridge.
