This week on The Rounds Table Andrew Smaggus and Paul Bunce are back with new evidence on the association between home care visits and same day emergency department use as well as antibiotics for pneumocystis pneumonia.
The extent to which home care visits contribute to the delay or avoidance of ED visits has not been well characterized. Andrew covers a study examining the association between home care visits and same day emergency department use among patients receiving publically funded home care.
Next, Paul takes listeners through an article examining the efficacy and safety of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole as primary prophylaxis for pneumocystis pneumonia in patients with rheumatic diseases receiving high dose steroids.
Then, the Good Stuff segment. Andrew shares an article on leadership development in medicine. Paul shares an update on organ donation from hepatitis C positive donors.
Finally, a special segment. Sheliza and Emily get listeners up to date with Hep C treatments.
