The Ruckus Podcast is a family that was brought together by a brilliant human being who had the foresight to put together 10 people in one space and let the world hear it. We are sorry to inform that Lu Olivero, better known as Brutus and the creator of this space, is no longer with us. His life was taken by an assassin’s bullets in Rio de Janeiro, where he’d been living for the past 10 years. He left behind a daughter, Sophia, and his long term partner, Julia, his immediate family in Lawrence, MA and many others who considered him to be family, ourselves included. We are heartbroken, talking about our brother in the past tense four months later seems surreal. The investigation is being conducted by Rio de Janeiro police. There are details being uncovered regularly and we do not want to hinder the work of the detectives involved, so we ask y’all to pay attention to this case. We hope that his killers are brought to justice soon. Please continue to support The Ruckus Podcast, it is a labor of love and we intend to keep his name and spirit alive, even when he would roast KC or say that he hated all of us so much for giving him shit about his corny dad jokes.
