Irregular Verbs, Part 2.

1.- Irregular verbs that change ONLY with the first person.

poner, traer, hacer, salir, caer, saber, dar, ver, valer.

Yo pongo, traigo, hago, salgo, caigo, valgo, sé, doy, veo
*All the different persons are conjugated as if these verbs were regular.

2.- Same group irregularidad -acer, -ecer, -ocer, -ucir. They also change in the first person. Hacer doesn’t follow this principle.

nacer, conocer, parecer, conducir

Yo nazco, conduzco, parezco, conduzco.

NOTE: In 7:31 I said conduzco, but I meant conozco
All the different persons are conjugated as if these verbs were regular.
3.- In this third group there are verbs that only change the way we write them, but the conjugation as such, stays as if they were regular verbs. Some of them are: ejercer, convencer, coser, cocer. We change the letter Z for the letter C, in the persons Yo, Tú, él and ellos.
Example with the verb convencer:
Yo convenzo, convences, convence, convencemos, convencéis, convencen.
Yo coso, coces, coce, cocemos, cocéis, cocen
Yo cuezo, cueces, cuece, cocemos, cocéis, cuecen. (Special conjugation)

4.- Verbs that end with uir . Theses verbs change from the ending UIR to UY in person Yo, tú él and ellos.
Example:
huir, concluir, construir, sustituir, etc.

yo construyo, construyes, construye, construimos, construís, construyen.
5.-Irregular Verbs with no rule.
Ser, haber, ir, estar.
Ser -> Soy, eres, es, somos, sois, son.
Haber -> he, has, ha, hemos, hais, han.
Ir -> voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, van.
Estar-> estoy, estás, está, estamos, estáis, están.
Ejercicios:
1. Mañana (ir/yo) ________________ a la escuela.
2. Los trabajadores (construir/ellos) ______________________ un edificio.
3. Pedro (ser/él) _______________ muy tozudo (stubborn).
4. ¿(Convencer/nosotros) _____________________ a mamá de ir al cine?
5. (Hacer/yo) _____________________ la cena, todo bien
6. (Conducir/tú) _______________________ todos los días a la escuela.
7. (Ir/nosotros) ___________________ a la playa?
