We're so honored to welcome on this 7th day of Pride Awareness Month and 16 days away from the 51st anniversary of Title IX, one of the most historical pioneers and trailblazeHERS of women's basketball not only on the West Coast, nationwide and worldwide but for Asians and Asian-Americans everywhere the pride of Sacramento, California, Colleen Matsuhara.

Colleen's global impact has led her into some of the most profound spaces from being the Secretariat of Basketball Competition for both the men and women at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California, to one of the most iconic and historic basketball movies of all time, Spike Lee's Love and Basketball to the new Docuseries If Not For Them because of her courage, passion for basketball, determination, and unwavering commitment to do whatever it takes to give women from all walks of life what they so richly deserve and what her parents and her father in particular fought for, a seat at the table.

She played 3 sports in college and is in one of her colleges hall-of-fame, And today, you will hear the rest of the story...

She was born the same day as, Louis Armstrong, Meghan Markle and former President of the United States, Barack Obama

and the same year as my mom, the late Robin Williams, Marilyn Monroe, the italian stallion, and Oprah Winfrey.

She's coached some incredible players over the years at her various stops from Notre Dame to Nebraska to UCLA to the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA Like Hall-of-Famer, Lisa Leslie to so many others.

And although she's retired, she's still very proactive and doing whatever she can to educate, motivate and inspire kids and adults alike to not only remember the correct HERstory domestically and abroad, but to continue to help shatter glass ceilings and open the doors for the next generation of SHEroes and rock stars.
