At Millennial Park on Florida Blvd. across from the Baton Rouge General, there is a brand new and bright yellow reading nook. Volunteers in Public Schools Baton Rouge partnered creatively partnered with schools and businesses to make it happen. Kaia Simmons, Volunteer and Community Partners Director tells me all about how it came together, and we also talked about what it takes to keep kids in EBRP at reading level (Hint: It might be you).
