Changing the current system where women are paid less than men and where women occupy just a fraction of the leadership positions at corporations around the world is not an easy undertaking. In fact, it can be downright daunting to think about. But today’s guest saw an opportunity to do this level of work within the Fortune 100 company where she has worked for almost 20 years, and she seized it.

I’m excited to introduce Lori Harris. Lori is a coach, speaker and teacher who has a knack for asking questions that get to the heart of things. With natural curiosity and deep intuition, she helps people create the story they want to live. She has worked for a Fortune 100 company for nearly two decades doing strategy and process work where she also formed a women’s network dedicated to empowering and connecting women to unleash their collective potential. Lori lives in the farmlands outside of Portland, Oregon with her husband and two kids.

In this interview, Lori takes us into her work at a global corporation where she dedicates a majority of her time to empowering women within the organization to achieve more success and joy. Through workshops, facilitation, coaching and collaboration with others, Lori organizes and inspires the women within her company to examine their belief systems and step up to the plate in a bolder, bigger way.

“You can be the pioneer, you can be the person that shows a different way."

Lori believes in finding your story of significance, a concept she explains in our conversation and a key driver in her coaching work at storyofsignificance.com. She also talks about what she sees as some of the main reasons holding women back from rising to leadership and what they can do about it.

If you work within an organization and aspire to organize, lead or effect change from within your company, then you do not want to miss this episode. Lori is not only an inspiration, but also a model paving the way in the empowerment of women at the corporate level.
