#texasvaluesreport with special guest Matthew Hoffman, Legal Counsel, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), and host Jonathan Saenz, President & Attorney, Texas Values After the Biden administration announced its new Title IX rule, Alliance Defending Freedom worked to file lawsuits challenging various aspects of the rule across several states. Each of these cases has different specifics, but they all have one thing in common: The Biden administration’s radical redefinition of sex and the damage that it causes. These lawsuits are a small portion of ADF’s work to defend free speech and protect women’s privacy and sports. Below is a list of ADF cases challenging these rules: [Filed May 21, 2024]: Carroll Independent School District v. United States Department of Education - ADF represents Carroll Independent School District which operates 11 schools serving more than 8,400 students. [Filed April 30, 2024]: Rapides Parish School Board v. United States Department of Education - ADF represents Rapides Parish School Board which serves 42 schools and more than 20,000 students. [Filed May 3, 2024] Tennessee v. Cardona - ADF moved to intervene on behalf of Adaleia Cross, a female athlete who’s experienced unfair competition and sexual harassment by a male athlete, and Christian Educators who want the freedom to speak the truth about biological reality without punishment. [Filed May 7, 2024] Arkansas v. United States Department of Education - ADF represents 10th-grader, female athlete Amelia Ford, who wants to protect women’s privacy and safety, stand up for free speech, and secure fairness for women’s sports. - ADF is co-plaintiff with Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Nebraska. [Filed May 14, 2024] Kansas v. U.S. Department of Education - ADF represents 7th grader Katie Rowland who feels uncomfortable sharing a restroom with males. - ADF will file on Katie’s behalf as co-plaintiff with Kansas, Utah, Wyoming, and Alaska.
