Derby season is upon us and we felt inspired to dive into a little more of the history of the Pegasus Parade. The parade kicked off the yearly tradition we now know as the Kentucky Derby Festival. It is one of the largest parades of its kind in the country and is watched by hundreds of thousands of people. Some show up in person, others watch on TV, but they all enjoy and embrace this amazing tradition that features everything from floats and balloons, to marching bands and equestrian units. People from all walks of life come together to celebrate the week of derby.
