Far too often we are willing to delay, defer, or postpone projects or plans because they are an inconvenience. We have a tendency to push things down the road, convincing ourselves we will get it done when our schedule allows. The issue becomes: what if those plans that could be of significant benefit to us never come to fruition because of our inattention or failure to act with any urgency? It is essential that we approach today as God’s gift and make the most of it. Saint Paul VI encouraged us to avoid procrastination when he said: “Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.”
