Alexander Hamilton predicted that inflation would become one of the greatest menaces to any society, and he was right - the most devastating effect of inflation is its corrosive impact on social trust. People lose faith in government policies when prices for essential goods go up beyond their budget, eroding the relationship of trust between citizens and their leaders. Inflation obscures economic boundaries between people and depresses spending, breaking down merit-based principles and leaving individuals feeling no choice but to make irrational decisions that can lead to dangerous results. This lack of faith will only worsen if we don't address the problem now - proactive solutions must be found before our collective trust diminishes further.
