Francis Albert Sinatra was on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey to Italian immigrant parents. His start in life was difficult, some physical issues and no one thought that he would grow up and change music, and yet that is exactly what Frank Sinatra (the name he went by) did. He was the Elvis of his generation and recorded so many hits that we don't have time to list them all. But unlike his contemporaries, Sinatra never went out style. He changed just enough to stay current and active up to his death in 1998, which is where our road trip begins.

Then we are off to Memphis, in 1965, to talk about the midnight hour and Wilson Pickett.

Finally, the greatest love story in rock and roll history, Paul and Linda McCartney. We pay a visit to the Bag O'Nails club in London in 1967 to see the two meet and sparks fly. Two years later, in March, 1969, McCartney is the last Beatle to marry, and what a marriage it is. Not only does he start a family, but includes his wife in his band Wings and in every aspect of his career. Linda does the same (and yes, our second daughter is named after her).

All this, plus charts and a little jazz talk on this week's Way-Back Music Machine.
