This week's episode will cause hysteria for listeners who hail from the Emerald Isle, while those from other parts of the globe will have an education like NO OTHER, as we hear all about the ultimately doomed 'romance' between Ireland's biggest star and her philandering, oboist husband.

It's not often you hear about a cheating oboist, but thanks to this week's guest, comedian, writer Tara Flynn, we get schooled in the messy, messy saga of Adele King - aka Twink and her on – off fella, David Agnew.

Grainne was obviously DELIGHTED at being able to do a deep dive into what is one of Ireland's biggest showbiz couples, while Chantal (and most of the rest of us) can only listen agape at the goings on between this pair, not least an infamous voice mail, which coined the phrase 'zip up yer Mickey' and remains part of Irish folk law forever more.

Buckle-up for this bumpy, but glorious ride!

Come and see Grainne and Chatal LIVE when they record two episodes of ‘The Way They Were’ at the Museum of Comedy in London, on Wednesday 25th October 2023.

The first episode is recorded with the fantastic Alexandra Haddow, while show two features the brilliant Cariad Lloyd! Museum of Comedy - What's On
