AJs Personal Story:
AJ shares her journey from being in a psychologically and emotionally abusive marriage to becoming an advocate for children of high conflict divorces.
Her marriage ended abruptly, leading her to realize the extent of the psychological and emotional abuse she had endured.
This realization propelled her into researching and developing methods to support her daughter and other children facing similar challenges.
Challenges and Overcoming Adversity:
AJ faced significant challenges when her daughter exhibited extreme behaviors after visits with her high conflict father.
She discovered that these behaviors were linked to the trauma her daughter experienced in her father's care.
Through extensive research and her background in developmental psychology, AJ created a parenting model specifically for children of high conflict divorces.
AJ's Framework:
Relate: Focus on building a trauma-healing relationship through attachment, connection, and empathy.
Respond: Create a stable, consistent, and predictable environment for the child, addressing behavioral issues effectively.
Repair and Reconnect: Handle relationship ruptures by making repairs and reestablishing connections to move the relationship forward.
