Hey Everyone! Welcome back to a brand new episode of Therapy Unmasked. Today's episode is all about our student outreach program at Ability Innovations. We got to talk to Emily (Occupational Therapist) & Natalie (Student Going Into Occupational Therapy). Natalie just finished up her pediatric rotation at Ability Innovations where she got to work with real clients in a play based environment.

We also discussed with Natalie & Emily what it's like being an occupational therapist in a play based environment. The topics they go over are:

  • What is play based therapy and how is it different from traditional pediatric therapy?
  • What is the purpose of feeding therapy & why does it fall under occupational therapy?
  • How to prepare yourself and your child for a play based environment.
  • What to expect as an Occupational Therapy Student.
  • What is emotional regulation?
  • How therapy can help my child regulate their emotions.

Thanks for listening to therapy unmasked. If you have any questions or need to reach out to us for any reason be sure to follow us on social media. We can't wait to see you in the next episode.
