On today’s episode, I share with you my vulnerable conversation with long-time friend of the Amsden family, Mike Zinda. Mike is the first guest who reached out to me after listening to several episodes last season, and asked if he could come on to share his story. After talking with him several times about the unexpected loss of his dad, it became clear that Mike’s path to finding peace is a relatable one – as it took Mike close to 7 years to find sobriety, prayer and going back to church to truly begin his healing journey. He encourages all of us to keep moving forward. “Either you’re getting better or you’re getting worse – you can’t stay the same!”

Quote by Winnie the Pooh, shared by Mike: “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard?”

In our episode, we reference a few of the previous ‘This Side of the Grass’ episodes. Listen to them again (or for the first time!) here:

Bonding Over Eulogies: A Conversation with Eric Froistad (June 6, 2024)

Milestones & Anniversaries (June 13, 2024)
