I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 29th of September, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

We start in the Book of Philippians 4:19:

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Isn’t that a beautiful promise for you and I this morning? He will supply all of our needs, not our wants - a big difference, but our needs. Then we go to the Gospel of Matthew 17:27. Jesus says:

Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea…, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”

The temple tax - isn’t that incredible? The sea of Galilee - “Go and cast your line. The first fish you catch, open his mouth and out will come enough money to pay the temple tax.” Our God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus our Lord. I want to tell you that He is a miracle-working God. I know that you know that, but I’m reminding you today. You’re probably sitting down and thinking, ”Now what am I going to do”, How am I going to make ends meet? The end of the month is coming and I’ve got accounts and I don’t have the money.” We need to pray, we really do, and we need to ask the Lord to give us godly wisdom and counsel and then of course, we need faith to believe for the impossible. We always say at Shalom, the coin is in the fish’s mouth.

Now, when we are doing the thing which God has called us to - whether it’s preaching the Gospel; whether it’s growing food; whether it’s working in the Roads Department; whether you’re a pilot in an aeroplane; whether you’re a school teacher; a nurse in a hospital, if you are doing the work which God has called you to, then He will supply all of your needs. That’s always happened to us, every single time. We endeavour to have a big campaign and we’ve got no money, and we don’t send out newsletters asking for money. We trust the Lord. The amazing thing is, every time we start, the money starts coming in and funnily enough, when we stop, the money stops. Just enough for the work!

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day and put your trust in Him because the coin is in the fish's mouth!

Jesus bless you and Goodbye.
