This week my guest is Patricia Granda, a singer and music educator based in Quito, Ecuador. She performs a lot of Brazilian music and is currently studying for a masters in music education and choral conducting. She talks to us about her journey through music and life in the modern world.

The music on this recording is as follows:
The first is a recording for the final credits of a documentary “Con mi corazón en Yambo”, which is about a state crime that took place in Ecuador in the 1980s. The police disappeared two brothers, Santiago and Andrés Restrepo and to this day the family is still looking for answers. The filmmaker is Fernanda Restrepo, their young sister, in this film she tells the story of her family. The song is called Luz Elena, which is the name of their mother.
