Australian woman Megan Hess, left our shores as many young Australians did to head over to the old dart in the 70s and 80s to try their hand in the big league. Megan succeeded, and is now globally recognised as a fashion illustrator who has worked for the largest fashion houses, published a range of children’s books and also illustrated books on her favourite cities, Paris and New York, and has now added a London book to her collection that is as much a travel book as reportage of the current trends in fine fashion. She tells our reporter Justine Costigan that she was very poor when she first went to London and enjoyed spending time taking in the free galleries and architecture, rather than dining at the Ritz. She says she has a shortlist of about 10 cities for her next book…we hope one day that it might be her home city: Melbourne. More: meganhess.com
