Though it is not that far off the Queensland coast, Stradbroke Island feels like a million miles away. Our reporter Sue Ahearn recently stayed at Couran Copve resort on South Stradbroke and reports on the visit and also mentions the plight of a number of Queenslabnd island resorts impacted by the GFC and others flattened by major cyclones.
