Christ's weeping exemplifies what our brokenness over the lost in our city should be. Our brokenness should come because we remember our own salvation from sin. - Eph. 2:8-10 Our brokenness should come because we believe the judgment is real. - 2 Cor 5:10-11 Our brokenness should come because we love as we are loved. - Mark 12:31 Our brokenness should come because we know many are called but few are chosen. - Matt. 7:13-14; 22:14 Our brokenness should come because we see the ravaging nature and effects of sin. - James 1:13-15 Our brokenness should come because we understand that Jesus is the only way. - John 14:6 Our brokenness should come because we experience(d) grace. - Rom 5:2, Titus 2:11-14 Our brokenness should come because we grasp the weight of eternity. - Matt. 25:41 Our brokenness should come because we get that many are deceived and the lost are spiritually blind. - 2 Cor 4:4 Our brokenness should come because we have peace with God that the lost desperately need. - Rom. 5:1 Our brokenness should come because we realize we can't reach the lost alone, yet so many are unwilling to help. See in our struggle with others we have choices: 1. We can grow better, or get bitter. 2. We can grow sensitive, or become cynical. 3. We can grow in grace, or we can grow grumpy. Philippians 2:5-8 Rom 12:1-2 Luke 19:41-42 II. Christ's warning echos today that we should take Him at His word. Our heeding should come because Jesus said it. Our heeding should happen because Jesus has never lied. Our heeding should happen because Jesus has never been wrong. Our heeding should happen because Jesus is Lord. Our heeding should happen because Jesus is our hope. Our heeding should happen because Jesus has done everything He said He would.
