The globetrotting steel drummer, vocalist, and songwriter learned to play the steel pans during his 3 years in the U.S. Navy Steel Band. His passionate approach led to work with Michael Ray’s Cosmic Krewe, the Sun Ra Arkestra, Charmaine Neville, Kermit Ruffins, and Jon Cleary. Relocating to Denmark, he’s toured extensively throughout Scandinavia, Western Europe, Ukraine, the Baltic, and Russia, where he sold out the prestigious Moscow House concert hall. In his “Black In The USA” performance/lecture presentations, he shares his childhood experiences with students. Tonight Gregory jumps on the line with the Troubled Men from their respective safe houses, as they search the void for glimmers of light in the darkness.

Topics include the Loose Cattle Xmas Wrecktacular, a flood event, a cover photo, Shane MacGowan RIP, the Netherlands, New Orleans global impact, a musical family, early influences, steel drum origins, Ellie Mannette, the steel band on tour, meeting locals, Nicky Sanzenbach, Blood and Grits, Gloria Powers, a foreign student group, love at first sight, a second date, alligator cheesecake, a jazz singer wife, famous musician in-laws, Lillian Boutté in Europe, electrifying the pans, fronting a band, the Danish vibe, gun culture, modern dance collaborations, positive affirmations, taxes, Urban Island gear, style, “Glory Road,” and much more.

Intro music: "Just Keeps Raining" by Styler/Coman

Break and Outro Music: "The Girl Next Door" and "Beating On A Drum" by Gregory Boyd
