What is a termite ?

Subterranean termite homes are usually formed in soil. Within these mounds, termites build elaborate tunnel systems and mud tunnels through which they access above-ground food sources. Drywood termites live within the wood they consume and oftentimes infest walls and furniture.

Termites can cause havoc and destruction to a homeowner and especially if they are in the process of selling their home.

How do you know if you have termites ?

Here are some signs if you have termites.

  • Flying Termites
  • White Ants
  • Papery or hollow sounding wood
  • Tight fitting doors and hard to open windows
  • Tunnels in wood
  • Small dirt piles near base board mouldings

Termites are great survivors .Studies show that queen termites can live up to decades under ideal climate conditions. Workers and soldiers live approximately one to two years.

Termites can go away on their own, however they are known to come back in force !

How do you get rid of termites? Well, you call Marlon from Trident Termite and he will assess the situation and advise you of your best solutions.
