Episode 17: Black Panther, Crossfit and Racism with Syn Martinez Syn Martinez joins us today to discuss his journey from a black militant to an owner of a crossfit box in Harlem. Syn is one of the first black owners of a crossfit gym in the United States, he managed to build a community of crossfitters in Harlem, New York. Today, he gives personal insight to the racism within the crossfit community and shares his personal thoughts about the CEO of Crossfit Greg Glassman racist tweets, that has led to Gred stepping down from the organization Syn is an entrepreneur by heart and like it or not, his message is always loud and proud. He is either going to piss you off or he might just light a fire under your ass!. His brand AfroBrutality is motivational and always positive. Syn describes it; "We're after a mindset of people who want to lead a positive life and won't let life dictate how that looks and feels." Syn Martinez Syn is a motivational speaker, entrepreneur and a one who is changing the world. He is working on bringing crossfit to some of the poorest communities in America. Syn describes his journey of overcoming fear and some hatred of the “white man” through crossfit, that helped him build a community regardless of color.
