Heading out on vacation?

Is your home and all you have securing?

Think about it, just because you go on vacation doesn't mean troubles take a holiday too.

What the main goal of this episode is, getting you there and back again without regrets. The way we do this is, securing your home and being proactive while at your destination. Think of it as a "Don't-panic-safety-scenios-so-you-can-rest-at ease -and- enjoy -your -time -away" list.

Ask yourself, how does the idea of leaving your castle for a vacation; your pets and electronics; jewelry or furniture all unattended left as easy pickens for a thief or vandalism, make you feel?

When you are boarding the plane at the start of your adventure; are all the windows and doors securely shut and lockdown at your home?<\P> Accordling to a website which listed 8 facts about burglaries we felt you needed to know.

1. Burglars tend to avoid homes with security systems. A 2012 report made by the University of North Carolina, Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, stated that 60% of burglars confessed that their decision of which home to target was deterred when a security system was involved.

2. Most burglaries take place between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. while everyone is at work.

3. The majority of break-ins are committed by burglars who live nearby.

4. Most criminals can burglarize a home in less than ten minutes.

5. Almost 30% of burglars enter a home through an unlocked door or window.

6. An astonishing 34% of burglars enter through the front door.

7. Burglars usually go to the master bedroom first.

8. The average property dollar loss per burglary is a staggering $2,251. Reports submitted by the FBI claims that in 2014 that $3.9 billion was the total loss in burglaries, and 75% of the burgled were residential properties.

A short list of 5 prevention...

The name of the game is "Don't give the impression that NOBODY is home."

1st rule is to have your mail and newspaper deliveries stopped if you're not having a house sitter.

2nd, make sure you check windows and doors. Make sure all of your window latches and door locks work properly.

3rd, If you'll be gone long enough for your yard to grow tall or it to snow. Have your lawn mowed or driveway shoved of snow. Tall grass and a snow covered driveway void of wheel tracks could be a dead giveaway.

4nd, Set your lights on timers inside and motion detection lights outside.

5th, on your way out the door. if you'll have a car left behind. Park it in the garage and if you can unplug the garage door opener

In NO WAY is this an exhaustive list of prevention's.
