Christmas is a time of GREAT giving isn’t it? Family members and friends give one another presents. Stores are filled with the latest gifts. Companies get out of debt during the holiday season because people buy gifts to give to others. December is generally the largest giving month for churches…
What a lot of giving!
God also gives gifts. The Bible says His blessings are new every morning. He gives the gifts of the Spirit. He gives grace and mercy, peace and love.
Matthew 7:9-11 tells us God is the best gift giver… “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Most importantly, God gave His Son to die for our sins and set us free from the sentence of death.
