Does Amari Cooper deserve a new contract? Yes. On this episode of the Ultimate 216 Show, Earl Da Pearl will argue that Myles Garrett should be the Cleveland Browns' top priority when it comes to handing out new contracts. All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett left little doubt on Wednesday that the foul taste in his mouth related to the Cleveland Browns' 45-14 wild-card playoff loss at the Houston Texans in January hasn't gone away. "It's definitely at the forefront of my mind always," Garrett said about the defeat, per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN. "That's the last taste of football that we all had. I'm trying to make that apparent to everyone and continue to keep it as motivation for myself." Garrett won the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year Award after the Browns finished the regular season ranked first in the league in total defense (average of 270.2 yards allowed per game) and first in passing defense (164.7 yards surrendered per contest), according to ESPN stats. However, then-rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud torched Cleveland's defense to the tune of 274 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in the 31-point postseason laugher. Garrett didn't call his shot on Wednesday, but he made it known he's targeting more than just personal honors heading into the summer. "God willing, I can build on the success that we had last year, have everyone be healthy and win a Super Bowl," Garrett said. "That's where my eyes are only." | https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/browns_myles_garrett_using_one_thing_as_motivation_for_2024_season/s1_13132_40476621 Browns No. 1 receiver Amari Cooper played in David Njoku’s celebrity softball game on Saturday, but flew the Coop for mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Heading into the final year of a contract that pays him $23.77 million, Cooper skipped the first day of the Browns’ three-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday in a holdout for a contract extension. If the Browns opt to fine him, the NFL schedule is as follows: Day 1 -- $16,953; Day 2 -- $33,908, Day 3 -- $50,855 for a three-day total of $101,716. If it extends into training camp, he’ll lose $40,000 a day | https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2024/06/amari-cooper-skipping-browns-mandatory-minicamp.html NATIONAL DISCLAIMER: 21+ and present in select states.
