For the first episode of Uncomfortable Truths I interviewed Melbourne Comedian, Sofie Prints. The Queen of Dark Comedy here in Melbourne, Sofie takes her audience to some very dark places, and then breaks the tension with a killer punchline and a huge laugh! With Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows like Jesus Was A Rape Baby, and Mary's Abortion, I think you get the picture. I interviewed her inside her shed in the backyard of the house that she was moving out of in Northcote, Melbourne. She put a huge effort into decorating the inside of her shed and it was like being inside a genie's bottle. Stunning!!

We discuss her history in comedy, her style of comedy, where she grew up, and attending a Catholic school growing up in the country, only to find that the principal of her school was a paedophile! Uncomfortable Truths indeed! We talk about our friend Eurydice Dixon, and Sofie lands the darkest, funniest joke about Eurydice I've ever heard. Worth listening to the podcast just to hear her gag! We discuss how I need to check in with Sofie in 4 months from now, just in case she dies, and the curse that may hang over this podcast.

I play you out with a song called Dick Control. Recorded in 1999, it's an old classic from my band back then - Cosmic Egg! Founded by my husband, Clint, and myself, we sang about many uncomfortable truths. One of the those is the fact men don't always listen to women, and often they are thinking about sex! Who would have thought? It has explicit language and sexual references, so please don't listen if you are easily offended. Otherwise, enjoy the podcast, and thank you for listening to Uncomfortable Truths.
