Standards vs. Targets Standards are what we want students to be able to know and do. Targets are the “I can…” statements specific to the lesson/day. Ashley: “Leveled Learning Target” *Whole Group (Tier 1): online curriculum *“Small” Group (Tier 2): live instruction all students but done in smaller groups *Leveled learning targets utilized to teach specific skills based on students ability level *Advance: 1x a week ELA/Math *Proficient: 2x a week ELA/Math *Basic/Below Basic: 4x a week ELA/Math *No group has more than 20 students Erin: “Unwrapped Standards” *Look at standard across the grade levels *Break apart the standard into all the components and skills *Determine what needed to be taught IN ORDER TO teach the standard *What are the gaps in order for students to find success in grade level standard?
