This week we celebrate Father's Day! Being a father carries with it a great responsibility. A father is the spiritual leader of the home. We could call this the “point man.” Point man is often used in military circles. This is the soldier who goes ahead of the patrol team. This person guides, warns, protects, leads, provides crucial information, and they are willing to lay down their life so their team makes it through. The point man helps determine the success of the mission. Fathers determine the success of the family. To all the Dad’s out there, it’s time to take point, and lead our families the way God calls us to.
