Living From the Super-consciousness

“Uninformed Decisions”

Hey Unity,

Does this title make sense to you? How many stories (of our own or someone else’s) have we decided are true without getting proper information? I grew up making those decisions about God because I thought my parents and grandparent’s choices were informed. Turns out, they weren’t. They made their decisions about God based on misinformation from their adults.

“There is a principal which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep man in everlasting ignorance – That principle is contempt prior to investigation.” Dr. Herbert Spencer

Have you ever disliked someone based on your friend’s opinion of them? Have you ever disliked someone because they reminded you of someone else that you don’t like? Or, have you ever liked someone just because they flattered you or agreed with you?

I have liked some people because I liked the color they were wearing. I have disliked people because of the color they were wearing. Clearly, I have judgments based on feelings rather than investigation.

For years I investigated my beliefs about God and then my beliefs about myself. Now, I try to let my decisions about God, myself and you to be fluid, knowing that more is being revealed.

It is foolish to make decisions about health, wealth and personalities without proper investigation. It is also foolish to reject our potential Good without proper investigation.

Let’s not be foolish today. Let’s get informed about God and ourselves through honest prayer. Let’s find out the source of our Good and the Cause of our experiences through proper investigation. Observe all outcomes (positive and negative) and trace them to their source. Let’s find out for sure how this life thing works and how we can consciously participate in it for the good of all.

All the Best For Today,

Rev. Shawn
