In her latest book, "The Myth of the American Dream," she explores whether or not the individualistic and autonomous values of the American Dream are at all compatible with Jesus’ instruction to “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Her goal as a writer has been to connect people while simultaneously unsettling them. In this conversation we discuss the love-hate relationship of social media, whether it is used to create relationships or build a self-aggrandizing TikTok ministry, and ask the question: Is there one way to be a good white Christian on the internet?
