Total employment increased by 42 000 or 0,4% quarter-on-quarter, from 10-million 674-thousand in March 2024 to 10-million 716-thousand in June 2024. According to Stats SA this is largely due to an increase in Community Services industry with 92 000 or 3,1%. However, there was a decrease in Manufacturing, Business services, Mining, Transport, Trade and Construction. Stats SA Director responsible for Quarterly Employment Statistics Matlapane Masupye elaborates and Bongiwe Zwane spoke to the Chief executive of Labour Law Management Consulting, Ivan Israelstam
