CHILD SOLDIERS – You’re In The Army Now

Around the globe children are on the front Line.

Child soldiers, as young as five to eighteen years old with machetes, AK 47s, and even more vicious ways of killing have been coerced and placed in wars across the globe in at least 18 armed conflicts. Whole groups of students and children are kidnapped, drugged and addicted to fight in these wars. These are the most vulnerable of all, seeking a “family” to escape poverty and child abuse. Child soldiers are found in state governments and non-state militias, including most recently in Syria. They are taught this is the way the “family” and the world into which they were born survives, gets protection. This and the drugs to which they are addicted is all they have ever known. When asked what they had done one child, responded, “We did what we should do. We buried them alive.”

In 2017 Child Soldiers International estimated that several tens of thousands of children, possibly more than 100,000, were in state- and non-state military organizations around the world. Join Tom Osborne and his US World Report news team for this shocking radio revelation!
