Born in California, ABOVE has spent the last decade or so traveling the globe like a virus infecting the culture with his iconography and subliminal messages. Known primarily for his unmistakable upward facing arrow logo and bright bold color pallet, ABOVE constantly finds new ways to reinvent himself and keep things fresh. From screen-printing to sculpture, murals to videos, creative word play interventions and elaborate stencil portraits, there really doesn’t seem to be much that he can’t do.
In this rare and candid interview with a normally illusive artist VantagePoint gets deep inside the mind of ABOVE to find out where he’s been, what he’s up to now, and what we can expect in the future.
