A core strength of those in the veterinary industry is our ability to create deep connections with our animal patients. Dr. Bruce Silverman joins me to share the value of the spirituality and zen moments that come with this connection.
During a time in the field when we have more patients than ever before, it is easy to become burnt out, stressed, and feel rushed. Dr. Silverman drives home that our empathy is something we cannot compromise on. The intense connection is a crucial piece of veterinary care as we provide a comforting touch to the animals in our care. He reminds vets to pause, take a breath, and head into each visit with a positive and healing presence. To go into a visit in another mindset not only feeds negative energy into your clients but also provides them with a great disservice.
As veterinarians, you are healers, and this requires a deeper intention and practice. It is important to not be swept away in the day-to-day. It is your responsibility to provide an honest sense of caring.
Dr. Bruce Silverman has done a great deal of writing on this subject, and you can find out more about him by visiting him on LinkedIn.
What’s Inside:

  • The spirituality in animal connections.
  • The value of honest connection in veterinary care.
  • How to stay zen in the fast paced veterinary environment.
  • Why you can’t compromise on empathy.
  • How being a healer requires deep intention and practice.
