In this episode of the Vet2BizLife podcast, my guest is Garrett Coker, Founder of Battle-Rattle, a Huntsville, AL based organization that creates a product line that not only keeps your drinks cool, but also makes you look cool while drinking.

Garrett is a proven leader with over 17 years of training and management experience in Defense operations. He is an outstanding leader, manager and communicator with a complete understanding of the challenges of modern combat. His experience in business includes leading a global network operation center and acting as a Program Manager for a many Army and public safety programs valued at over $45m. Garrett is also an entrepreneur who has founded his own Defense Consulting company, as well as a Design and Manufacturing company called Battle-Rattle.

With Battle-Rattle, they wanted to create something which evoked memories of the years of sacrifice to give to a greater cause, support the local economy, operate in an environmentally conscious manner, and give back to our fellow veterans and the families they left behind. Battle-Rattle whiskey chillers are more than just a way to cool your booze, while looking cool getting drunk. They employ service disabled veterans to do the design work, they recycle the scrap steel left over from production. Even their packaging materials are made with post-consumer recycled materials. However, most importantly they give a portion of the proceeds to veteran service organizations every quarter. Not only can you raise a glass to warriors past and present, you can support organizations which take care of our brothers and sisters in arms, and their families; those who gave us their best and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Garrett received his B.S. from Florida State University, a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of Dallas, holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, and is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt. As an Armored Cavalry Officer, Garrett provided operational management and oversight of tactical operations for various Reconnaissance units – has personally planned and led more than 100 combat missions over 33 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
