Varför anses blont och rakt hår så eftersträvansvärt?
Vithetsnormen går tillbaka till slavägarna och deras sätt att dela in människor i olika grupper, säger Salem Yohannes, statsvetaren som pratar om hur rasism, skönhetsideal och kolonialism speglas genom håret. I den västerländska kulturen, i vår samtid, har det handlat mycket om att ta bort hår. Ska man göra uppror behåller man snarare håret, säger sociologen Lars Holmberg som är programmets andra gäst och som berättar om vad politiker signalerar med sin frisyr. Vi får också träffa den brasilianska konstnären Fernanda Ribeiro som har gjort politiskt performance-konst av sitt rakpermanentade hår.
