This week Phil wraps up our Ephesians series, by unpacking Ephesians 6.10-23. Focus for the passage: In the previous passage, Paul describes a counter-cultural Christian household (within his cultural setting), but in this passage he speaks of another reality that works against the unity and transformation of the church: the reality of evil as an active force and how we are to resist it. Importantly, Paul has referred to ‘spiritual powers/devil’ at numerous points in this letter (e.g. Ephesians 2.2, Ephesians 4.27), so Paul is not bringing in a new idea here, but addressing the idea in more depth.
